21 districts in Tamil Nadu have been issued an orange warning for heavy rain till 1 pm.

In this situation, Chennai, Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, Thiruvallur, Ranipet, Vellore, Villupuram, Kallakurichi, Cuddalore, Pudukottai, Sivagangai, Ramanathapuram, Coimbatore, Tirupur, Namakkal, Erode, Karur, Dindigul and Theni districts are expected to receive heavy rain till 1 pm today. .
Heavy rain warning for two days
An atmospheric upper circulation prevails over the Southeast Bay of Bengal. Due to this, a low pressure area is likely to form over central South Bay of Bengal by 14th. It will move in a west-northwest direction, strengthen as a deep depression and move towards north Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and south Andhra Pradesh coast during the next 48 hours.
14.10.2024 : Villupuram. Cuddalore, Ariyalur, Perambalur. Mayiladuthurai, Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Pudukottai districts, Puducherry and Karaikal regions will experience heavy to very heavy rain at one or two places and Chennai, Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu, Ranipettai Thiruvannamalai, Kallakurichi, Trichy, Sivagangai and Ramanathapuram districts will experience heavy rain at one or two places.
15.10.2024: Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning may occur at many places in North Tamil Nadu and a few places in Puduvai and Karaikal in South Tamil Nadu.
Heavy to very heavy rain at one or two places over Chennai, Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu, Ranipet, Thiruvannamalai, Kallakurichi, Cuddalore districts and Puducherry, Vellore, Tirupattur, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Salem, Erode, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai districts and Heavy rain is also likely at a couple of places in Karaikal.
